When the Commercial Product Will Not Do
Pain preparations get compounded for practical reasons. A patient cannot swallow, the strength manufactured is wrong, a commercial product contains something they react to, or a prescriber wants the medicine applied to one area rather than taken systemically.
Every preparation is made to a current prescription and checked by a registered pharmacist before it leaves the pharmacy. We do not advise on pain management and we make no claims about how well a preparation will work. That is between you and your prescriber.
Why a prescriber may compound
- The patient cannot swallow tablets or capsules
- A topical form is preferred to an oral one
- The strength needed is not manufactured
- A commercial excipient causes a reaction
- A product has been discontinued

How to Get One Prepared
1. Talk to your prescriber
Compounded medicines cannot be supplied without a prescription. Tell your doctor, specialist, dentist or vet what is not working and ask whether it can be compounded.
2. Send us the prescription
Bring it in, post it, or send it through online. Call us first if you would like a price and a timeframe before you commit.
3. Collect or have it delivered
Pick it up at Piazza 16, 3221 Surfers Paradise Boulevarde, or we courier it Australia wide through Aramex.
