Prescriptions, Repeats and eScripts

Everything that happens between your prescriber writing a script and you walking out with the medicine. PBS and private prescriptions, repeats held on file, eScript tokens and Australia wide delivery from our pharmacy in Surfers Paradise.

Three Kinds of Prescription

They arrive at the counter looking similar and they are dispensed very differently. Here is what separates them.

How to Get a Prescription to Us

eScript token

Your prescriber sends a token by SMS or email. Forward it to us, show it at the counter, or paste it into our prescription form. It works exactly like a paper script.

Paper script

Bring it in, or post it to Piazza 16, 3221 Surfers Paradise Boulevarde, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217. Some prescriptions require the original before we can supply.

Upload a photo

Upload a clear photo or PDF of your script through our online form. We will check it and call you back with the details.

Already on file

If we hold your repeats, you do not need to send anything. Call 07 5527 9428 and we will have it ready.

Repeat Prescriptions, Kept on File

Carrying paper repeats around for a year is how people lose them. Leave them with us instead and we will file them against your record. When one is due, a phone call is the whole process.

We keep track of how many repeats remain and will tell you when you are on your last one, so you can get a new script from your prescriber before you run out rather than after.

If your repeats are currently sitting with another pharmacy, you can transfer them. Bring in whatever you have and we will take it from there.

What to bring

Delivery Across the Gold Coast and Australia Wide

If you cannot get to Surfers Paradise, we dispatch prescriptions and compounded medicines through our courier partner Aramex. That covers Southport, Main Beach, Chevron Island, Broadbeach, Bundall, Benowa, Ashmore and Labrador, and every other address in Australia.

Call the pharmacy to arrange it. We confirm the postage cost before anything is sent, and some items need particular handling, which we will talk through with you.

Prescription Questions

Most prescriptions are valid for twelve months from the date the prescriber wrote them. After that we cannot dispense and you will need a new one. Bring it in and we will check the date with you rather than guessing.
Usually no. Repeats are timed so that you receive roughly the amount you need between intervals, and PBS rules set minimum intervals for many medicines. If you are travelling and need an early supply, tell us in advance and we will look at what is possible.
If it was an eScript, the token can usually be resent. If it was paper and we have not dispensed from it yet, you will need to contact your prescriber. If we already hold it on file, you have nothing to worry about.
Yes. A prescription from any registered Australian prescriber can be dispensed here in Queensland.
PBS prescriptions are set by the scheme, so the patient contribution is the same wherever you go. Private prescriptions vary between pharmacies, and we will always tell you our price before we dispense.
Yes. Bring the prescription or the eScript token in. We are open seven days, which is often the deciding factor for visitors.

Need a medicine prepared rather than dispensed? See our compounding service. For everything else we do, see pharmacy services, or send us your prescription online. You may also find consumer medicines information and absence from work certificates useful.
