Getting a tablet into a cat is a fair test of any relationship. Vets across the Gold Coast send prescriptions to us for flavoured liquids, pastes and doses far too small to be made commercially.

Most veterinary prescribing uses human products at animal doses, which creates two problems. The strength is often wildly wrong for a 4kg cat, and the flavour is designed for a species that can be reasoned with.

Veterinary compounding fixes both. We prepare the active your vet prescribed at the correct strength, flavoured for the animal taking it, in a form that can realistically be given at home twice a day.

How to Get One Prepared

1. Talk to your prescriber

Compounded medicines cannot be supplied without a prescription. Tell your doctor, specialist, dentist or vet what is not working and ask whether it can be compounded.

2. Send us the prescription

Bring it in, post it, or send it through online. Call us first if you would like a price and a timeframe before you commit.

3. Collect or have it delivered

Pick it up at Piazza 16, 3221 Surfers Paradise Boulevarde, or we courier it Australia wide through Aramex.

Veterinary Compounding Questions

Do I need a prescription from my vet?

Yes, always. We cannot compound for an animal without a current prescription from the treating veterinarian, in the same way we cannot for a person.

Can my vet send the prescription directly?

Yes. Vets can phone, fax on 07 5604 1432 or post prescriptions to us. We are happy to talk through a formula before it is written.

Will my cat actually take it?

No guarantees, but flavoured liquids succeed far more often than tablets. If one flavour does not work, tell us and we will discuss alternatives with your vet.
