Compounded Medicines Made for One Patient
A compounded medicine is prepared from individual ingredients for one person, to the strength and form their prescriber asks for. Every preparation below is made in our own compounding lab in Surfers Paradise and needs a valid prescription from a doctor, dentist or vet.
When a Compounded Medicine Makes Sense
Most people never need one. A compounded medicine becomes useful when the commercial version does not fit the patient, for example when it is no longer made, the strength is wrong, or a tablet is simply not an option. If you want the background first, read how compounding works or our article on compounded medicines explained.
- A medicine has been discontinued or is out of stock
- A different strength or dose is needed
- The patient cannot swallow tablets or capsules
- An ingredient such as a dye, lactose or gluten needs to be left out
- A pet needs a flavoured or easier to give form

How to Get a Compounded Medicine
Ask your doctor, dentist or vet to write the prescription, then upload it online, bring it in, or have it sent to us. We check the formula, confirm the price and timing with you, and prepare it in the lab. You can collect from Surfers Paradise or we can post it to you anywhere in Australia.
Prescribers can call first
Doctors, dentists and vets are welcome to phone 07 5527 9428 to talk through a formula before writing it. We will tell you what is achievable and how long it takes.
